Will Solo Leveling Be Adapted Into a Mobile Game?

Solo Leveling: Arise open beta is almost here for fans worldwide.

The highly anticipated action RPG, Solo Leveling: Arise, is gearing up for its open beta phase, followed by an official worldwide release.  NewsPim, South Korean game developer Netmarble has confirmed that the beta version of Solo Leveling: Arise will become available this March, with a full release set for April 2024.

Netmarble’s CEO, Kwon Young-sik, highlighted the global success of the Solo Leveling anime, which premiered in early January and is slated to run until the end of March. “The company is preparing an Open Beta Test (OBT) for Solo Leveling in March, with the game’s current build already set for an international launch,” Kwon stated.

Solo Leveling: Arise Will Introduce Unseen Techniques from the Anime

While Kwon Young-sik has confirmed the global launch of Solo Leveling: Arise, there is still uncertainty about whether the English version will debut simultaneously with the Korean release.

As one of the most eagerly awaited mobile RPGs, Solo Leveling: Arise invites players to step into the journey of protagonist Sung Jin-woo as he strives to become the most powerful hunter.

Reports from Kuki News indicate that players will have access to various combat styles, the ability to combine weapons, exclusive in-game skills, and techniques that have yet to appear in the Solo Leveling anime, which is currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll.

Releasing Solo Leveling: Arise alongside upcoming titles such as Arthdal Chronicles and Raven 2 is expected to support Netmarble’s financial recovery, following its first profitable quarter in nearly two years.

This new addition further solidifies Solo Leveling as a dominant intellectual property, expanding its reach from novels and manhwa to anime and now a video game adaptation. Fans can also look forward to a live-action K-drama based on Solo Leveling, which was announced last year.

Netmarble’s Official Synopsis of Solo Leveling: Arise

Netmarble has provided an official description for Solo Leveling: Arise, offering insight into the game’s premise: “Around ten years ago, mysterious ‘gates’ started appearing, linking this world to other dimensions. As a result, certain individuals known as ‘Awakened Beings’ emerged among ordinary people.

These individuals possess the strength required to battle the monsters that lurk within the dungeons beyond each gate. They are referred to as ‘hunters.’ However, not all hunters share the same level of power.

Among them is an E-Rank hunter infamously known as ‘The Weakest Hunter of All Mankind,’ who struggles to survive even in the lowest-tier dungeons. His name is Sung Jinwoo. Barely scraping by to support his family, he continues entering dungeons despite possessing minimal skills.

His fate takes a dramatic turn when he encounters a perilous ‘Double Dungeon’ concealed within a seemingly insignificant D-Rank gate. Convinced that his journey has come to an end, he resigns himself to what seems inevitable… until he awakens to discover an extraordinary and mysterious ability.

A quest window—similar to those in video games—becomes visible exclusively to him. This window presents him with unique missions and a hidden method of increasing his power.

Determined to grow stronger, he embarks on a journey to ‘level up,’ hunting monsters and completing quests that no other hunter can undertake. The key to his transformation lies in his ability to accomplish these challenges completely alone.”

Solo Leveling: Arise aims to immerse players in Sung Jinwoo’s adventure, bringing the gripping story of Solo Leveling to life in an interactive format.

As anticipation builds for both the game’s open beta and official launch, fans can expect an experience that expands upon the anime and manhwa, offering exclusive gameplay elements that enhance the franchise’s universe.
