Taito Ban, the Japanese voice actor for Sung Jinwoo, has hinted that fans have a lot to anticipate in Solo Leveling Season 2.
He has described the anime’s upcoming fight sequences as being “10 times flashier” and “10 times more impressive” compared to what was seen in the first season.

Behind-the-Scenes Insights from Taito Ban
During Comic Fiesta 2024, Solo Leveling lead actor Taito Ban sat down with GamerBraves to discuss both the first and second seasons of the anime.
While reflecting on Season 1, he provided a look into what awaits in Season 2, teasing that the action sequences will be on a whole new level.
“Although the first season was executed incredibly well… when looking at the entire story, it still serves as just the prologue,” Ban explained.
“With the introduction of more characters and an expanding cast, the setting grows far beyond the dungeon where Jinwoo had been leveling up. As Igris becomes an even greater presence, the battles will be more intense and visually spectacular.”

Solo Leveling Season 2 Will Deliver More Action-Packed Battles
Beyond hinting at the explosive fight scenes in Season 2, Ban also shared his methods for portraying Jinwoo’s character. To reflect Jinwoo’s weaker moments, he physically crouched and altered his voice projection.
Despite strongly connecting with the protagonist, Ban revealed that his favorite character is Cha Hae-in. “If Jinwoo represents the darkness in Solo Leveling, then Cha Hae-in is the light,” he expressed.
Character Insights from Ban and Reina Ueda
As part of the promotional interviews for Season 2, Ban and Reina Ueda, the voice actress for Cha Hae-in, spoke about their perspectives on their characters.
Ban compared Solo Leveling’s setting—where one’s fate is determined by natural talent—to the voice acting industry, stating that he saw his audition as a crucial opportunity.

Meanwhile, Ueda offered more details on why Ban refers to Hae-in as “the light.” She explained that Season 2 will gradually reveal Hae-in’s true personality. “Her human side will come through bit by bit. She isn’t just mysterious; she’s also easy to connect with,” Ueda said.
The season will showcase deeper aspects of her relationship with Jinwoo, highlighting the emotions she experiences as she interacts with him. The two voice actors also emphasized that every moment in Solo Leveling Season 2 has deeper meaning.
While Hae-in’s calm and composed demeanor was evident in Season 1 when she effortlessly retrieved a stolen bag, Ueda has previously mentioned that viewers will also see moments where she isn’t as in control.
Production Challenges in Bringing Solo Leveling to Life
The producer of Solo Leveling has discussed the unique difficulties involved in adapting the series, particularly due to its immense popularity among international audiences before the anime’s release.
