The Struggle Against the Monarchs
The greatest danger to humanity was not just the dungeon breaks but the war between the Rulers and the Monarchs. The Monarchs, being immensely powerful, aimed to wipe out mankind as part of their larger conflict.
Even the most talented hunters were no match for these beings, and without a force capable of resisting them, human cities would have fallen one by one. National-level hunters, the strongest among humans, might have delayed the destruction but could not have secured a lasting victory.
The Monarchs’ armies outnumbered and outclassed humanity’s forces, leaving little hope for survival. Without someone capable of countering them directly, humanity would have been powerless to prevent its own extinction.
Would Another Hunter Have Risen?
It is possible that, in the absence of Sung Jin-Woo, another individual could have emerged with enough power to challenge these threats. However, no other hunter demonstrated the ability to grow at an unlimited rate or to command an army of shadows.
The system that granted him his strength was unique, and no known hunter had access to a similar opportunity. The best-case scenario would have involved humanity finding alternative methods to delay their fate, but survival without an equivalent force seems unlikely.
The level of destruction would have been severe, and even if some humans had managed to escape annihilation, their existence would have been reduced to hiding rather than thriving. Without Sung Jin-Woo’s presence, humanity’s future would have been grim, with little hope of reclaiming its place in the world.
