Is there Any Anime Villain Sung Jin-Woo Couldn’t Defeat?

Sung Jin-Woo rises from the weakest to an unstoppable force.

Sung Jin-Woo initially appears unimpressive in Solo Leveling, beginning his journey as the weakest Hunter in South Korea. His abilities are even inferior to those of a typical E-Rank Hunter, placing him at the bottom of the ranking system.

However, as the title implies, he undergoes an extraordinary transformation, reaching levels of power beyond imagination. By the time Solo Leveling reaches its climax, Sung Jin-Woo has ascended to the status of an overwhelmingly powerful protagonist, placing him alongside legendary figures like Goku and Saitama.

His progression from being the weakest to one of the most formidable characters in anime is a key highlight of the series. His immense power allows him to challenge and even defeat some of anime’s strongest and most recognizable warriors, making his journey one of relentless growth and dominance.

10. Denji Couldn’t Be a Shadow Soldier

Strongest Ability | Effect

Chainsaw Devil Form | Grants Denji the power to transform into the Chainsaw Devil, sprouting chainsaws from his limbs and head. He gains heightened speed and strength, as well as the ability to regenerate as long as he has access to blood.

Denji’s transformation into Chainsaw Man grants him incredible combat prowess, making him a nearly unstoppable force. His ability to regenerate by consuming blood provides him with endless endurance in battle.

Additionally, his chainsaw appendages exceed the capabilities of standard chainsaws, and when he enters his Hero of Hell form, these attributes become exponentially more powerful.

Despite these formidable abilities, Sung Jin-Woo would not struggle against him. While Denji has survived extreme situations, including falls from space and demolishing entire buildings, such feats would be trivial for Jin-Woo. The only real advantage Denji holds is his immortality, ensuring that he wouldn’t be reanimated as one of Jin-Woo’s Shadow Soldiers.

A young man, betrayed and left for dead, merges with his pet devil and is reborn as a powerful devil-human hybrid. Soon, he becomes part of an organization devoted to hunting devils.

9. Tanjiro May Not Be Breathing After Fighting Jin-Woo

Strongest Ability | Effect

Hinokami Kagura | A sacred sword dance passed down through Tanjiro’s lineage, mimicking the legendary Sun Breathing technique pioneered by Yoriichi Tsugikuni.

Through the use of Breathing Styles like Water and Stone Breathing, Tanjiro and his allies are capable of battling even the strongest demons under Muzan’s control.

Like Jin-Woo, Tanjiro is no stranger to fighting superhuman adversaries. As a Demon Slayer Corps member, he has faced off against Muzan’s elite forces, the Twelve Kizuki. With his mastery of Sun Breathing and the Hinokami Kagura, he even managed to hold his own against Muzan himself.

Tanjiro’s swordsmanship is likely unmatched in Jin-Woo’s universe, where most Hunters acquire their strength through an awakening rather than rigorous training.

However, Jin-Woo is an exception, as his abilities were earned through countless battles. His combat experience, combined with his sheer strength, surpasses even the most powerful demons in Tanjiro’s world, including Muzan.

A young Demon Slayer, Tanjiro Kamado, embarks on a dangerous quest to avenge his family and find a cure for his demon-transformed sister, Nezuko. Alongside his allies, he confronts formidable demons and uncovers hidden truths about his lineage.

His journey leads to the eradication of demons, restoring peace as he and his comrades step into a new life free from supernatural threats.

8. Even Gabimaru Couldn’t Kill Death

Strongest Ability | Effect

Ninpo Ascetic Blaze | Allows Gabimaru to generate flames from within his body, incinerating anything he touches.

Gabimaru is already renowned for his exceptional power at the beginning of Hell’s Paradise, earning a reputation as an execution-resistant assassin. As the series progresses, he refines his mastery of Tao, elevating his abilities to an even higher level.

Despite his formidable endurance and healing capabilities, Sung Jin-Woo possesses true immortality. His absolute control over death enables him to resurrect himself at will.

While Gabimaru’s speed and strength might allow him to take down some of Jin-Woo’s lesser minions, the sheer size and power of Jin-Woo’s undead army would overwhelm him in a prolonged battle.

Gabimaru’s regenerative abilities, though impressive, have limits—ones that Jin-Woo and his Shadow Soldiers would inevitably exploit.

A group of criminals and their overseers are dispatched to study a mysterious island. Stranded in an unfamiliar and dangerous environment, they must rely on one another to survive against the island’s monstrous inhabitants.

7. Eren’s Titans Are No Match for Jin-Woo’s Giants

Strongest Ability | Effect

Power of the Founding Titan | Grants Eren the ability to command all Titans and manipulate fate through precognition.

Eren and Jin-Woo would make for an interesting clash due to the massive armies under their command. Eren wields control over every Titan in existence, while Jin-Woo leads an unstoppable force of resurrected warriors.

Even if individual combat strength were ignored—where Jin-Woo holds the upper hand—his army would still decisively overpower Eren’s forces. His Shadow Soldiers outmatch even the most elite members of the Survey Corps, rendering warriors like Levi and Mikasa ineffective against them.

Since both Levi and Mikasa are known for slaying Titans, it’s evident that Jin-Woo’s minions could do the same. Jin-Woo commands enormous titanic warriors within his ranks, meaning any fallen Titans could be resurrected to serve him instead.

Following the destruction of his hometown by Titans, Eren Yeager enlists in the military to seek revenge for his mother’s death. As he uncovers hidden truths about Titans, Eldians, and Paradis, his journey takes a darker turn.

His ultimate goal results in a catastrophic conflict, reshaping the fate of the world in a final battle that determines the future of humanity.

6. Deku’s One-Man-Army Wouldn’t Be Enough

Strongest Ability | Effect

One For All | Grants the user access to the quirks of previous wielders, allowing them to utilize multiple abilities simultaneously.

Theorizing about potential battles between anime characters is always entertaining, and discussions about alternate outcomes in My Hero Academia continue to spark debate.

Deku may not lead an army like Jin-Woo, but his abilities make him a formidable force on his own. His quirk, One For All, provides him with several abilities at once, including superhuman strength, heightened senses, levitation, and a smokescreen technique.

While these powers would help Deku eliminate some of Jin-Woo’s minions, the most powerful Commanders within Jin-Woo’s army would still rival him in strength. If Jin-Woo himself decided to enter the fight, Deku would have no chance, as Jin-Woo’s speed and power surpass anything seen in My Hero Academia.

Izuku Midoriya, once a Quirkless boy, inherits One For All from his idol, All Might, setting out on a journey to become a hero. Alongside his classmates at U.A.

High School, he faces off against the League of Villains, led by Shigaraki, while societal unrest escalates. As major conflicts come to play, Izuku and his allies engage in a final battle against the forces of evil to protect their crumbling society.

5. Gojo’s Domain Expansion Wouldn’t Work on Jin-Woo

Strongest Ability | Effect

Unlimited Void | A Domain Expansion that traps opponents in an infinite space of knowledge, overloading their senses and rendering them immobile.

Satoru Gojo is among the most overpowered characters in modern anime, boasting abilities that set him apart from nearly every adversary he encounters. His Limitless technique, combined with his Six Eyes, grants him absolute control over space, making it nearly impossible for most fighters to even land a hit on him.

However, Jin-Woo is no ordinary combatant. His immense speed would allow him to react before Gojo could fully activate Unlimited Void. Additionally, Jin-Woo’s resistance to various magical and supernatural attacks raises the question of whether Gojo’s Domain Expansion would even affect him.

Since Gojo’s technique is based on overwhelming his opponent’s mind, it’s possible that Jin-Woo, whose power surpasses even that of gods in his world, would be unaffected.

If Gojo did land an attack, Jin-Woo’s instant regeneration and immortality would negate any damage. With his ability to summon an endless army of Shadow Soldiers, Jin-Woo would simply outlast Gojo, whose stamina—while incredible—still has limits.

A secret organization of sorcerers protects humanity from cursed spirits. When a powerful young sorcerer takes an interest in an ordinary student, he unknowingly sets the stage for a battle that will determine the fate of the supernatural world.

4. Ichigo’s Bankai Wouldn’t Be Enough

Strongest Ability | Effect

True Bankai | Ichigo’s ultimate form, combining the power of a Shinigami, Quincy, and Hollow into a single devastating transformation.

Ichigo Kurosaki is one of anime’s most iconic protagonists, wielding abilities that make him a force to be reckoned with in Bleach. His hybrid nature as a human, Shinigami, Hollow, and Quincy grants him an unparalleled arsenal of techniques, culminating in his True Bankai, which maximizes his offensive power.

Even so, Sung Jin-Woo stands on a different level. While Ichigo’s reflexes and swordsmanship are impressive, Jin-Woo’s strength surpasses that of the most powerful beings in Bleach. The difference in their physical abilities alone would tilt the battle in Jin-Woo’s favor.

Ichigo’s Bankai, while capable of altering the battlefield, wouldn’t be enough to counter Jin-Woo’s sheer speed and raw power. Additionally, Jin-Woo’s army of Shadows—including fallen enemies—could provide a strategic advantage that Ichigo would struggle to counter on his own.

A teenager with the ability to see ghosts becomes a Shinigami and is drawn into an age-old conflict between spirits. As he unlocks new powers, he takes on powerful adversaries, uncovering the truth behind his lineage and the secrets of his world.

3. Naruto’s Nine Tails Wouldn’t Save Him

Strongest Ability | Effect

Baryon Mode | A form that sacrifices Naruto’s and Kurama’s chakra to temporarily grant overwhelming strength, speed, and perception.

Naruto Uzumaki is one of anime’s most legendary warriors, with a power set that puts him among the strongest in the genre. His Baryon Mode allows him to surpass nearly any opponent for a brief period, draining an enemy’s life force with each strike.

However, Jin-Woo doesn’t rely on chakra or life energy in the same way as Naruto’s opponents. His regenerative abilities and immortality negate the drawbacks of Baryon Mode’s attacks.

Even if Naruto managed to land powerful blows, Jin-Woo’s resilience would ensure that he outlasts Naruto in a battle of endurance.

Additionally, Naruto’s most powerful summons, like Kurama and the Toads, would be countered by Jin-Woo’s massive army, many of whom are equally large and far more numerous. With his ability to resurrect fallen enemies, Jin-Woo could turn Naruto’s allies against him, tipping the battle in his favor.

An orphaned ninja rises from obscurity to become the Hokage, proving his worth through determination and sacrifice. Along the way, he faces godlike adversaries and uncovers the hidden truths of his world while building a new future for the next generation of shinobi.

2. Luffy’s Gear Fifth Wouldn’t Be Enough

Strongest Ability | Effect

Gear Fifth | Grants Luffy cartoon-like reality-warping abilities, allowing him to bend physics and reshape his surroundings.

Luffy’s latest transformation, Gear Fifth, is one of the most creative and powerful abilities in One Piece. By awakening his Devil Fruit, he gains the ability to fight in a way that seemingly defies logic, making his attacks unpredictable and almost unstoppable.

When raw power meets unyielding determination, legends are born (Photo: Solo Leveling/Lucasfilm Ltd)

However, Sung Jin-Woo’s raw power and speed exceed anything Luffy has faced. Even with his reality-warping capabilities, Luffy’s durability would not be enough to withstand Jin-Woo’s relentless attacks.

Additionally, Luffy’s Gear Fifth has a time limit, while Jin-Woo’s stamina appears to be limitless, allowing him to simply wait out Luffy’s transformation.

While Luffy’s strength, adaptability, and willpower are legendary, he wouldn’t be able to defeat someone with Jin-Woo’s sheer overwhelming presence.

A young pirate sets out on a journey to find the fabled One Piece, assembling a diverse crew and facing off against powerful adversaries. As he grows stronger, he challenges the world’s greatest forces, seeking to become the Pirate King and change the fate of the seas.

1. Goku Would Finally Meet His Match

Strongest Ability | Effect

Ultra Instinct | A divine transformation that allows Goku to react and counter attacks without conscious thought, maximizing his speed and reflexes.

Goku is often considered the pinnacle of anime power scaling, with transformations like Ultra Instinct placing him on a near-unbeatable level. His ability to adapt and grow stronger mid-fight makes him an ever-evolving threat.

However, Sung Jin-Woo has attributes that make him a worthy challenger. His ability to regenerate, summon an entire army, and grow stronger through each battle means that even if Goku were stronger initially, Jin-Woo would eventually catch up. Additionally, Jin-Woo’s speed and reaction time are comparable to those of Ultra Instinct, allowing him to keep pace with Goku.

A prolonged battle between these two warriors could potentially go either way, but Jin-Woo’s endless supply of Shadows gives him an advantage. Even if Goku eliminated his army, Jin-Woo could resurrect them again, turning this battle into one of attrition—one that Goku might not be able to win.

A Saiyan warrior crash-lands on Earth and grows into the universe’s strongest fighter, defending it against extraterrestrial threats. With each battle, he surpasses his limits, reaching godlike power while continuing his quest to become the strongest fighter in existence.

Sung Jin-Woo’s rise to power makes him one of anime’s strongest protagonists, capable of standing toe-to-toe with some of the most legendary warriors. While some of these battles might be close, Jin-Woo’s abilities, army, and resilience would make him a nearly unbeatable opponent.
